Vestrahorn

In these challenging times, ridden with travel restrictions and less than desirable social life, it might be worth your time to watch or revisit, some of the movies and TV shows that were filmed in Iceland. Especially so, if the latest volcanic eruption has you burning with desire to visit but you are unable to do so, for this or that reason.

Vestrahorn

Hours away from Iceland’s capital of Reykjavík, across glaciers and volcanic rock and sand, East Iceland is often overlooked by first-time visitors.

Active volcanoes, enchanting waterfalls, formidable glaciers, the valley of Thor, as well as spectacular Aurora light shows are only some of many treats your eyes and feet can feast on when they find themselves in South Iceland.

Because let’s be honest, there are probably dozens of places to see in the southern region, however, this time around we have chosen the following 6, all of which are relatively close to our Eyja Mörk cabin.

Dear guests, in all Iceland Guesthouses we are complying with the latest Covid-19 safety guidelines, issued by the Icelandic Tourist Board!

Iceland’s second largest town, Akureyri is considered by many to be the capital of the country’s North. Some 18,000 people live here, so by most European standards it is hardly a city and more of a town, but it has some exciting sightseeing options and beautiful natural surroundings.
